Keep My Sister

Keep myself I say. If not, who will keep me? Keep my sister you say? Who is she? Where is our history? Where are the mothers who kept each other's children when their own mothers or fathers were sold off. Where is the unity? Who is minding the kitchen when I am tending to others needs? Look at us, our cultures, our race. Competing for the same nothingness. Shame on you sister, shame on us all. So I say keep my sister and you will be kept!

No one woman can be everything to her man, children, friends or family. Once we become comfortable with that thought, we become free to reach out to others. For everything there is a season. I'd like to thank God for all the wonderful sisters and sister mothers he has allowed in and out of my life. To my friend Leslie and my sister Chris you are both an inspiration to me.
